Buttweld Long Radius Returns are sparingly used in actual piping network. They are mostly used to construct heating coils of heat exchangers and atmospheric vents on storage tanks. Long radius returns provide minimum pressure drop. ASME B16.9 Table 3 provides dimensions for size range of ½” to 24”. This page provides metric dimensions for these returns.
