Inch Dimensions of Threaded Cap Rating 6000 as per ASME B16.11

Threaded caps are used to close ends of small bore threaded pipes, especially on pipe racks. They are used in non critical services like air, water etc. They are used predominantly for small pipes up to size 1.5″, though fittings up to 4″ size are available as per ASME B16.11 : Forged Fittings, Socket Welding and Threaded. These fittings are available in two pressure ratings viz. 3000# and 6000#. This page provides inch dimensions for 6000# rating threaded caps.

Available Dimensions are: P | End to End, B | Length of Thread (Min), D | Outside Diameter, G | End Wall Thickness (Min), L2 | Length of Thread (Min).

General Notes

Dimensions are in inches.

Notes

  1. Dimension B is minimum length of perfect thread. The length of useful thread (B plus threads with fully formed roots and flat crests) shall not be less than L2 (effective length of external thread) required by American National Standard for Pipe Threads (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1). See Section 6.3.
  2. Class 2000 and DN6 Class 6000 couplings, half couplings, and caps are not included in ASME B16.11.
