Socket Weld Half Couplings are used as small bore branch connection on big bore piping. They are mostly used for branch sizes up to 1.5″ though socket weld half couplings are available up to size 4″ in ASME B16.11 : Forged Fittings, Socket Welding and Threaded. These fittings are available in three pressure ratings viz. 3000#, 6000# and 9000#. This page provides metric dimensions for 3000# rating half couplings.
