Piping Welder’s Identification Cards Format

Welders ID Card

Indentification cards for the welders are very important to ensure quality control of the welders and the welds.

The welders shall always have in their possession, an identification card containing necessary information information as specified by client and shall produce it on demand by the Engineer In-Charge or his representative. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to issue the identify cards after it has been duly certified by the, owner’s Inspector.

No welder shall be permitted to work without the possession of the identify card.

A typical welder’s identication card includes important information such as :

  1. Photograph of the welder
  2. Name of the welder.
  3. ID Number
  4. Date of testing of his welds.
  5. Weldingn processes qualified like SMAW, TIG, MIG etc.
  6. Thickness range for which welder is qualified. Example : 6 mm to 25 mm.
  7. Piping diameter range for which welder is qualified. Example: 25 mm to 150 mm
  8. F. No. of the filler materials welder is qualified to use.
  9. Date of approval of welding.
  10. Weld positions, the welder is qualified for like 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G

Welder’s ID card includes signature and seal of the employer as well as approving authority.
